Minchagi Nee Baralu

Minchagi Nee Baralu is a 2014 Kannada romantic science fiction film from India, marking the directorial debut of Randeep Shantharam Mahadik, who also wrote, directed, and co-produced it. The lead roles are played by Diganth and Kriti Kharbanda, with music by V. Harikrishna. First announced in 2013, the project faced multiple delays before finally hitting theaters on 5 December 2014. Its story is adapted from the 2000 South Korean film Il Mare.

The cast includes Diganth as Jai, Kriti Kharbanda as Priyanka, along with Dilip Raj, Ramesh Bhat, Sihi Kahi Chandru, and Archana.

First-time director Randeep Shantharam, who previously worked as an assistant to Bollywood director Rajkumar Santoshi, originally planned to make the film in Hindi with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. That idea was abandoned for reported reasons. Producer Mahesh Talakad then suggested doing it in Kannada with a fresh lead pair, which worked out once the actors were confirmed. The original title, Minchagi Neenu Baralu, was taken from a song in the 2008 film Gaalipata, which also featured Diganth as one of the main characters.

The soundtrack, composed by V. Harikrishna, was officially released on 12 September 2015 at Bangalore Citadel hotel. D-beats audio company handled the audio distribution rights. Harikrishna composed four songs, with lyrics by A. P. Arjun.

A critic from The Times of India gave the film three out of five stars, noting that "the love story actually has novelty for the Kannada audience and is a welcome break from the usual underworld and massy films with an action overload. Go watch this with your special someone."
