The film follows Shobha, who lives with her scientist father Professor Mathur. After an experiment leads to an employee's death, Rajan blackmails the family, demanding marriage to Shobha. Shobha falls in love with poet Sudarshan, but refuses his proposal. Sudarshan then appears to die, haunting Shobha as an invisible voice. In truth, Sudarshan is alive and invisible, and with Professor Mathur's help, he becomes visible again, marries Shobha, and they live happily ever after.
